SELF REGULATING
HEAT TRACER

Self-Regulating Heating Cable is a type of electric heating cable that automatically adjusts its heat output in response to the surrounding temperature. It is widely used for freeze protection and temperature maintenance in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Available is 10 Watts/Mtr to 100 Watts/Mtr.
Maintenance Temp upto 180 Deg C
Max Exposure Temp Upto 250 Deg C

Heat That Adapts to Its Environment

Key Features :
  • Self-Regulation: The cable’s core is made of a conductive polymer that increases or decreases its electrical resistance depending on ambient temperature. As temperatures drop, the cable conducts more electricity and produces more heat. As temperatures rise, it reduces heat output.
  • Energy Efficient: No risk of overheating and reduced energy consumption where less heat is needed.
  • Cut-to-Length: Can be cut at any point along its length (within specified limits), making installation flexible and easy.
  • Parallel Construction: Allows for power connection at both ends or a single end.
  • Safe & Reliable: Withstands overlapping and crossing without burning out due to self-regulating technology.

Construction :
  • Core : Semi-conductive polymer matrix bonded between two parallel bus wires.

    • Insulation : Primary insulation layer (typically polyolefin or fluoropolymer).

    • Braid : Tinned copper or stainless steel for grounding and mechanical strength.
  • Outer Jacket : UV, chemical, and abrasion-resistant outer sheath (PVC or fluoropolymer) depending on the environment.

Applications :
  • Pipes & Valves : Freeze protection and process temperature maintenance.
  • Roof & Gutter De-icing : Prevents ice dams and icicles.
  • Tanks & Vessels : Maintains fluid temperature.
  • Floor Heating (in some residential versions) : Uniform heat with enhanced safety.
